The Town of Paint Rock held it first annual singing on  at 11:00 am.

They severed refreshments, and had cake auctions.

The groups that performed were:

  1. Patti Scivally
  2. Sweet Water
  3. Old time Christians
  4. The Singing Martins
  5. Headed Home
  6. New Beginning 

Paint Rock's first town Christmas Dinner & Tree lighting

The Town of Paint Rock will be hosting a Christmas Dinner this year for all of its Citizens.    Everyone from the Madison County line at Gurley to the Madison County line on            County Road 5, from Garth to the Paint Rock River Bridge you all are invited.

  It is going to be a pot luck dinner. The Town is going to provide the turkey and ham, plates, utensils, napkins, drinks and dressing. All you need is your favorite dish and/or dessert and your family.

We will also have a Christmas tree lighting ceremony. The tree will be placed in front of the town hall please bring a non-breakable ornament to place on the tree.

You may want to put in honor of or in memory of someone special on it.

The town will provide the lights for the tree,

We would like for every one to come and get to know all of your neighbors of the town of Paint Rock on December 5, 2009

in the Senior Center Building in Paint Rock at 5:30.

So that we will know how much meat and supplies to buy please call and inform us as to how many will be attending with you. Thank you.

Second Annual Gospel Singing

The Town of Paint Rock held it second annual singing on September 18, 2010 at 11:00 am.

They severed refreshments, and had cake auctions.

Finis Lee {Fonzie} Johnson

Saturday the 26th. June 2010.
We are selling tickets for BBQ plates and a drink for $8.00. 

We will be selling tickets for draws on over $600.00 worth of prizes. 10 tickets for $15.00, 20 tickets for $25.00 & 30 tickets for $35.00.
The singing will be held at the Paint Rock Senior Center. We will have a cake auction and silent auction also Mrs. Cindy Maggart is making a quilt of the Paint Rock firemen to be auction off.
Finis has been diagnosis with Lung Cancer and has one lung remove because of it.. He is married to Rose Lee Johnson they have been together for 22years. They have Five Children, 9 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
He has been a volunteer for 18 years at the Paint Rock fire department. Of those he has severed as Lieutenant and is now severing as Captain. He love’s doing the cooking of the meat for the yearly BBQ fundraiser the fire department has in October. He is also member of the Jackson County Rescue Squad. February 6th. 2008 a tornado hit the community of Pisgah, Alabama.
Finis took off work for a week collected food and went to Pisgah and grill the food so the volunteers and victims would have something to eat. He has also hosted a benefit for a lady who had cancer. He has done odd jobs for the town of Paint Rock and is always there to help when needed.
Now friend and family are coming together to help Finis.
Please come out and enjoy the music and fellowship and help out a good man and his family in this hard time.

Second Annual Christmas Dinner

You are invited to the second annual Christmas Dinner of the Town of Paint Rock

On the fourth of December 2010 at 6:00 pm.

        The blessing of the food and tree will be done at 6:00 pm.        

      The tree will be lit and dinner will be served afterward. The meats and dressing, plates, plastic ware, napkins, tea, and coffee will be furnished.

For the ones bring ornaments for the tree,

Please give them to the towns helper’s out side with the tree.

They will be placing the ornaments on the tree this year.

Santa will be here for pictures at 4:00 pm to 5:30 pm.

You will be able to purchase a CD for $2.00 with the pictures on them.

If you have special request please call ahead.

Come and fellowship with family and friends.

We will be looking forward to seeing.

Ladies Night Out

Ladies Night Out walking trail fundraiser was Thursday April 22, 2010 at 6:30 pm in the Paint Rock Heritage Center. This was organized and hosted by Mrs. Betty Putnam.

The Ladies Night Out fundraiser event was held to help raise money for the 20% unpaid amount on the walking trail grant. with your help, we will be able to meet the $11,000.00 goal.

We had vendors who provided fabulous door prizes. 

We had 12 tables which was decorated by people in the committee They also furnished the food for there table.
